话题: help. directx 9 will not install on win 7

windows 7 64 bit. has direct x 11. won't let me install dx 9. it says that a newer version is already installed.

been having problems with firetext and basic video playback as well.

contacted tayla and we are both stomped.. just no clue how to solve this.

any help is appreciated

Strange I managed to install DirectX 9 on Windows 7 without any problems.

Question; which version are you trying to install, November 2008 or August 2009?

I've had no problems too. I used to web installer

DirectX 9c update for Feb10 (the latest) is out now!! If you haven't already installed it ;)

hey mates, been there done that, tried everything just to install dx9, where it should be just a simple matter of installing, dx11 seems to be putting up a wall to block dx9, even tried shahar installing it as administrator.

spent some hours where it should have been just minutes trying to install it, got me stumped. please don't say i missed something simple... lol.

You've probably have tried this already, but have you tried to manually install the DX9c update

Try downloading the full redistributable runtime rather then the web installer. I've had some scenarios where the web installer refused, but the full runtime went on without issue.
