Your old version of VDJ won't work with the DJ Steel. It was designed to work with your old DJ Console.

If you want to use the Steel, you will need to install the included version (or download the most recent update v.5.2.2 after having entered your serial number), or purchase the PRo version.

yep it one so easy to me now> just follow the step like you explain. 1 thru 6 on the Manual firmware update guideline. open device manager, when you hook up the console and it read the console but with the exclamation mark. uninstall the driver, then hold down the mic on\off switch, keep holding it down, then go in "action" in the device manager and click "search for hardware change". keep holding down the mic on\off button on the console and ur going to notice that allot of the hercules is going to pop up in the device list with exclamition marks. keep hold down the mic on\off switch untill all of the marks disapear. it gon be disapearing one at a time. when all the marks are gone, ur good to go. the console is now ready to work.

Can you tell us which devices have a yellow exclamation point next to them ?


Hi! I am facing the very same problem on Windows 7 Ultimate x64. My Hercules RMX worked just fine on Win XP; but now I can't seem to get it working. I'm getting frustrated and am about to return my console.

I tried every single suggestion that I found on the net, but it still won't work. I am able to install the latest drivers. After the installation I also can open the Hercules RMX control panel, but Midi Monitor just doesn't detect any midi input at all, it says "no midi input device found, this application can't be started" although the RMX is installed.
In the Windows device manager there is a yellow exclamation mark next to "Hercules DJ Console Rmx MIDI", an USB Audio Device is not displayed, the rest is where it's supposed to be. All the drivers are up to date by the way. Here's a list of what I tried:

- simply uninstalling and reinstalling the newest drivers
- manually removing the drivers from C\Windows\system32\drivers before reinstalling
- executing the driver installation in windows vista sp2 compatibility mode
- looking for any system drivers that could fix midi issues on windows 7, but I couldn't find any
- contacting the Hercules support, but they don't reply

Is there anything left I can try before returning my console (which would be a shame because I really like the controller)?

Is your Rmx connected to a USB 3.0 port by any chance ?

You can easily know if it is by looking at the inside part of the USB connector: it is blue.

If this is the case, try reinstalling the Rmx on a regular USB 2.0 port.



There is a know issue with USB 3.0 ports that will probably be corrected in an upcoming driver update.

Ragazzi ho un problema..sono nuovo dell'ambiente...ho appena acquistato la remix..è possibile usarla solo collegando il cavo usb?? e usare solo il pc con le casse del pc??

Regarding your question: The only cable you need to get it working is the USB cable. Of course you need a pc/laptop and some dj-software like Virtual DJ, Traktor ... to use your RMX.
