When i first installed it, just the "keyboard mapper.xml" was present..
I then copied my "keyboard mapper custom.xml" & "DMC2 custom.xml" over to the mappers folder..
at that point VDJ showed 4 mappers present..
I then deleted "keyboard mapper.xml" and renamed my "keyboard mapper custom.xml" to "keyboard mapper.xml"

this cleared up the dual keyboard mapper problem (and they were interfering with each other, so thats why I deleted the stock on)

thats the part that scared me.. I have no way to 'delete' the default one.. I dont want any keys I changed on the DMC2 to start doing multiple things cause I now have two DMC2 mappers present..
 
Make sure that your DMC-2 mapper is named exactly the same as default one - E.g: If you added 'custom' on the end of the name, remove it.

If you are unsure what the name should be, move your custom mapper elsewhere, start the software and then customise the default again. This will create a new customised default mapping in My Documents\VirtualDJ\Mappers, which you can get the correct name from. Also, make sure that the description= tag in your custom mapper is the same as the default (I.e: Numark DMC-2)

Im planning to buy a set of these and a DJM-909 Mixer in December...


That is dated "June 04, 2009" ... we have released 2 versions since then ... you need to look at the Hardware forum ... and Yes ... that is video is no longer valid.

Unless the update installer was one of the fixes, I'm never updating again. I went through two new serial numbers and hours on the phone just to get 6.0.2 installed. It was a nightmare.

VDJ PRO is sold online whereas numark cue (same as VDJ) is rebranded and sold in the dj retail. Same goes for Numark Virtual Vinyl.

Alternatively, you may buy the djc edition that came with the controller such as hercules rmx or hercules mk2 etc. With this over the timeyou may upgrade to the pro version with a discount.

the best version is of course VDJ PRO;)

PS: If you buying a used controller or software, problem is you can't register the license and can't have all the privilege a professional user have.
 
A BIG THANK YOU to Atomix for the ability to MOVE FILES around in VDJ!!!!!! I spent less time organizing in VDJ than doing it in the folders!!!!! THANK YOU STEPH!!
 
for what it's worth, the basic skin runs much faster than the new skin introduced with virtual dj v6. I noticed this with a laptop I purchased 2 years ago. Sometimes it took a lot longer to load a song with the new skin. I switched back to the basic skin and i no longer have problems. And the use of serato vinyl is great. It's like using a playstation controller with an xbox...
