Is there a way for VDJ to remove songs from the playlist automatically?
Ahhhhh... the perfect question!!!
Use the Side list.
Is that the side list at the bottom or the side list at the side?????
I thought the question was how to remove it from the PLAYLIST ?
This is the list on the side. Not the one on the bottom.
The list at the side is the playlist
The list at the bottom is the sidelist.
The playlist is what i was talking about

thanks guys... funny as hell

That was funny. When i use the "playlist" i play a track and its gone.

Funny...

Add this feature, and a couple more.... and I'd pay twice as much for the program! So would most of the folks in my group. We all perform for weddings, so we use the AutoMix/AutoPlay function regularly. This program is soooooo close to replacing other programs such as DJPower, I can't wait 'till it finishes improving its admin/config pages and adding the last few features needed to truly be considered for kiosk/playlist/mobileweddingdj work. Sooooooo close!!!

Agreed! Bring 2 Deck Automix Option back and have songs remove from the autoplaylist like it did in 4.3 and I will buy the software all over again at full price!

The automix in place now is ten times more stable than the two deck auto play was. It has been stated several times in the past by the ATOMIX Team that the two deck automix will not be re-added at any time.

The customers are just making a financial offer... Simple supply and demand....We have cash in hand... No need to start a 500 message thread. Silence rejects the offer just as well... You have customers willing to pay for a product... If VDJ doesn't provide it, another devleoper will....

Its like getting offered a gig for $1,500 a night. If you turn it down, another DJ will gladly take it...

Please don't reply. I have nothing further to add on this topic...

Cheers.

Vinny, look under my name. See the stars and description? It says moderator. That means I help relay information to users. I am not a paid employee, I am not in charge of, nor have any input into development (with the exception of beta testing). I'm sorry you enjoyed the old version better. But, copping a bad attitude with me, or anyone else on this forum, will bet no closer to your objective. Do a simple forum search and read what the corporate staff has had to say for themselves on the matter if you do not like the information I shared with you. Telling anyone not to respond is not your place however....

I have nothing further to add on this topic and appreciate your input and moderating.

Vince.

Thanks guys!

So anyway:

I use the playlist for setting up songs for weddings and parties... and then let the auto-play go while I interact with the guests.
If I want to see what I've played, I can always look in the history folder... I don't need the songs to stay in the playlist -- they just get in the way there. Clicking on the + sign and selecting "Remove played" is an annoyance I don't need. And, it can be dangerous if I accidentally click on "clear"!

Another related problem is that the only way to put a break between songs, is to turn it to "single" mode by turning off automix. Then, when I want the music to start again, it would make sense to turn on automix again... but that doesn't do what you'd think it would do -- instead of starting with the next song to be played, it starts at the top of the playlist again!
(That's why I have to go through the torture of clearing the already played songs every time I want to break between songs...)

I fade the automix deck and pause. Then reverse the process when I need to restart. I like the fact its on one deck as I get to use the second during those breaks - I've had to do this for things like playing happy birthday for example...

Roy

Hey GadgetMan

That's exactly how I do it with my Karaoke, Video or Comedy shows, one deck on Automix break songs and one for the other stuff you want to do and it works great.

Here's a tip you can use while on Automix playlist, just highlight all the played songs together then "lift click and drag to the bottom of the list or Delete you have a second option too.

Good Luck

Joey....

Those are good work-arounds.

But... if you pause a song, then that's the song you go back to - not the next song on the list.

cj, just double click on the song you want to restart your automix at and you should be good to go then highlighting the button to mix again.

have to agree with most on here - the lack of automatic delete after playing from the playlist is so annoying

if it gets anymore automated we all be called jukeboxes.

Tayla,

This is where these conversations always get off topic, and being stopped by a moderator. \

The request of paid VDJ users, ones who we should add have offered to pay again for certain features, as VDJ offering additional versions for free has been more than generous, has nothing to do with an ethical discussion over the automation of a DJ i.e your comment on Virtual Jukeboxes.

If DJ's want to start a thread on "who is really DJing" or are "automated DJ's really DJs?" then lets do so..

Otherwise paid users, who are looking to pay for certain features, have the right to make a request to purchase without comments from the peanut gallery on their style of DJing... If the ownership of VDJ chooses to profit from their request to purchase that is their choice.

Vince.

That is correct and if anyone remembers (like was said above) the playlist functioned like this in older versions. I personally would love to see it brought back.

Gentlemen here's an idea, how about a second Automix you can populate, click to fade in, then click to fade out back to the first Automix where you left off all from the same deck.

What do you think?

Joey.....

Hi All

Perhaps having a scroll feature so that the track that is currently playing is always shown at the top of the playlist panel would provide an alternate solution.

You would not need to delete tracks because they would move off the top of the playlist panel as they were used. They would still be available if you wanted to drag the list back down. This would help to unclutter the panel and allow you to add tracks at the bottom more easily.

If you have added tracks and it turns out that you want to keep them as part of the list you can then still just do a save.

Just an idea.

Daz

I like discobrian's idea...

Older versions of VDJ used to remove songs from the automix list panel on the right after played when "remove after played" was selected. This happened automatically after each song was played...you didn't have to select it again and again...hence the list would get smaller and smaller... a good warning to the DJ that he/she needed to add more songs or start mixing! Why not bring the old function back?

I do think there is something more to this though... I never experienced a software platform that removed features in future versions. One always sees bug fixes, additions, new versions... but almost never features removed. This happend when VDJ went from 4 to 5.... Maybe we can take that up in another discussion... For now.. looking for an old feature back...

and again, willing to pay...

Cheers!

One of the main reasons I am in support of this topic is the fact that when I stop automix and there are played songs in the list that i didnt clear, if I reactivate automix it WILL REPLAY those songs and I look like an idiot. It has happened a few times for me.
