HOLD ON! if VDJ did do all the stuff your asking then why would you bother even trying to be a dj????? your basically saying you want the software to do all your mixing and all your sampeling automatically, thus defeating the object of "hitting a learning curve"
if thats the case why ont you just stuff a playlist in Windows Media Player with the crossfade effect on for say 10 seconds and use realplayer to play samples over the top. which by the way would mean your not a dj just a guy who plays songs.

Well than, if its so simple, why not give us what we want as an option. We are not asking too much.

What was happening with 2 decks that is not happening with 1 deck?
The only difference is the crossfader is not moving IMO.

You still haven't told me what you are missing out on because it happens on one deck, and to say "we" want this... I do not see a long list of users asking for this.
Change is good. ;)

In my experiance as a professional DJ of over 15 years, i have never had need for the AUTOMIX feature. Wether it uses 1 deck or 2 decks.
Even when the dancefloors / bars are empty. I stay at MY COMPUTER, and press play for each track, as i would if i had 2 Decks or CD players.
If i need to step away for whatever reason, i simply play a megamix, but when A DJ is in the booth, they need to be SEEN as workin, not stood idle 90% of the time witing to update a playlist.
Though ive chatted to some DJs who use MixMeister, they just press play to start the night, and that software is geared around building a playlist!!! Well IMO that is NOT DJING.

i used to old automix where it just ran trhough your play list and sounded crap a lot of the time, but only at home when i had friends round and i was smoking or glugging, it tends to be a bit difficult to talk to your mates, smoke, drink and mix all at the same time......especially when we dont smoke in the house.
never thought of using a megamix before though, good thinking batman. :D

A real professional DJ still uses 2 turntables and 12” vinyl’s. Anyone who uses DJ Software (I am one of them) opt for convenience, so having a automix is a convenience. The best and the most expensive DJ Software (according to a British DJ Magazine) is the BPM Studio and it has a Autoplay with 2 decks.(I own a BPM Pro and a VDJ Pro). Rockit, Mixmeister and Ots all have Automix with 2 decks and maybe in the eyes of some of VDJ users all the other guys are not DJs, they only play music ,and I am one of the guys who play music and this is my living and earn good money for it. Viddal Sassoon once said, they have fancy names for my job but in my passport I wrote, occupation – Baber. Goodnight.

Guys, this discussion is not about whether professional DJ's use vinyl or not, or whether professional DJ's use automix or not, or whether the best (!!) DJ software in the marketplace uses one deck or two.
This discussion is supposed to be about why VDJ should automix over two decks rather than one!
Personally, I think automix using 1 deck is spot-on, leaving a free deck for you to use for <whatever you want to fill in here>.
What I'm missing here though is some rationale from the people that would like to automix over 2 decks. Why would you need 2 decks for automixing? What's missing in automixing in one deck that you feel you'd get if you could automix across 2 decks?
I'm curious. (Maybe I missed something in the earlier posts!?)

Maybe its not clear enough as to what the the 2nd track will be, as you only see a 2nd waveform appear o the player.
Maybe if there ws some indication (maybe a tooltip/info on mouse over) then it couls be simpler to use the 1 deckautopilot automix..

The old way of Automixing on 2 decks works pretty well. The only thing is that, there is no indication if its ON or OFF.
Also, If automixing VIDEOS, it only mix the music part and not the video part. So you still have to slide the video part.

This conversation is not going to happen .... it's been over 2 years since the 2 deck automix existed ... and 2 new versions ... and this conversation comes up every 6 months ... it's a dead topic ...
