does anybody know how to sort this ?
the sensitivity of the gain controls is way diiferent in v5 compared to v4 - why is there a delay between moving the gain knob on my controller and the software gain knob responding ?
I had no such issues trying out my friends v4 using the same controller - now that I have shelled out for v5 I have this problem and it';s ruining the experience for me
any ideas ?

Have you upgraded to 5.2.1 yet? If not, you should try it...I seem to recall that the gain sensitivity was one of the issues addressed by the update.

I've now installed v5.2.1 and it helps in terms of the operational responsiveness of the software gain control via my controller's gain control (which by the way is a Vestax VCI100)
still have the problem of tracks coming through with a much stronger signal on v5.2.1 than on v4 -
what has changed ?

Maybe you should try turning auto gain off in options tab.
