The internal Soundcard i have only tried short time, i use my Audio8 so i can play up to 4 different tracks ;)
The ASIO driver (NEW VERSION AVAIBLE!!!) works in standard settings with 5,3ms... try for some laptops a little higher!

Now i have write to the support of Pioneer, because the 4 Buttons 'Browse', 'Taglist', 'Info' and 'Menu' didn't send HID commands, only Midi and so they are not usable at the moment..

It's a great Player, have the same Plattersize as '900' and '2000'... Native support with Textdisplay in VDJ... It Rocks ;)

Now I hope, that the VDJ Mapping Team more support the Display, how it is by the '900'.. Thats my only wish..

hi avaco,
i seem to be having the same problems with my cdj 350s-they connect ok to vdj when the program is first opened up but if i want to use cd or usb the midi wont reconect to the laptop what mods did you do in mapping ?
i would like to see if that helps.

Hey...
to reconnect you have to map a keyboard shortcut for following action: "rescan_controllers"
VDJ is then searching again.. and don't worry, the tracks are still playing ;) ..and then..yeah.. there he is :)
 
hi i have just purchased cdj 200 and want to hook them up to my laptop so i can use the laptop to play my music from as i have a terabite mediaplayer. any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

I'm not sure what's causing your first problem, but your second one will be sorted out if you download and install VDJ 7


P.S make sure your CDJs have firmware 3.1 and they have been set to Advance HID mode in utils.
 
how can i set up two cdj-400's with 4 decks available in virtual dj 7? i want the left side to control decks 1 & 3 and the right side to control 3 & 4. i just can't work it out.
 
Similar question from the Greek Forum.

Seems that the new VDJ script commands do not work for him..

deck 1 assign_controller "CDJ400" 1
deck 2 assign_controller "CDJ400" 2

Any help?
 
thanks but i still can't get it to work. both my controllers do exactly the same thing (control the same active deck) unless i assign each controller to a single deck using the button in the mappings tab and the problem with that is i can only control 1 deck on each controller. it wont let me swap between 2 or more.
 
i figured it out took ages though. now the eject buttons on the cdj400s work to swap between decks 1 & 3 on the left and decks 2 & 4 on the right.

here is the code if anyone else is having trouble:

action_deck 2 ? deck 4 assign_controller 1 & deck 4 rightdeck : action_deck 4 ? deck 2 assign_controller 1 & deck 2 rightdeck : action_deck 1 ? deck 3 assign_controller 2 & deck 3 leftdeck : action_deck 3 ? deck 1 assign_controller 2 & deck 1 leftdeck

I have another questions, why would the cdjs wont read from my external hard drive? it reads flash drives fine, but id love for it to pick on the external

the other question is there a way to jump back and forth from cd to software?, because everytime i change from say vdj to cd, vdj sort of stops workin, so i have to close down and stuff before it to be back again. And when I want to go back from cd or usb to the software i cant without it cutting the sound

I came across with a problem yesterday during my gig, i was playing through my flashdrive and i got an error message and sound cut off
it happened twice, thought it was an error on my drive but then the other dj had the same issue n he was usin cds
sadly i didnt pay attention at the error number or anythin that might provide any more information :/

There could be a couple of reasons your CDJ wont read from your external drive.
It's possible that the CDJs have a power limit. If your harddrive is drawing to much this may cause your problem, or you will find that your external drive has a NTFS file system and your USB device will be FAT. It's possible that the CDJ can't support NTFS. If you try and format your drive to FAT I think you will run in to size limitation problems though. Your best bet would be to e-mail Pioneer support and see if they can offer any help.

As for VDJ "sort of stops workin" when you switch to CD mode. I had this problem in the early days, but it seems to have settled down.
I'm running XP and I believe it's more an OS problem then VDJs. You will find that VDJ seems to stop responding, but the music will continue to play. Right? If you switch the deck back to HID mode you should find that VDJ will become responsive again.
I'm can't fully remember what I did to stop this issue, but you could try the following.

Make sure your decks have been detected on all USB ports.
The other thing I have found made a difference is to make sure the decks are linked when your OS has loaded.... BEFORE you launch VDJ.

If your not using the sound device in the 900s for your sound cards. The other thing I found I did to stop this issue was to disable the USB sound device in device manager for the CDJs.

he also has the problem with the native mapping, he is a mac user. he also claims when using vdj 7 his aggregated device works both cdj's as one. so both devices seem to be cloned, i have no mac experience, but i guess his aggegated device is setup wrong, am i right?
 
He hasnt mapped the cdj's right :) this problem used to exist in v6 but in v7 it is solved :)

Hi there guys I have just brought the Pioneer cdj 2000's and the pioneer djm 2000 I'm a club and mobile Dj with video and have been using before the new kit the cdj 400's and djm 5000 with pcdj vj this all worked fine with the midi controls. Ok to the point now my new stuff dont work with pcdj vj. So I have borught virtual dj pro, so now my cdj 2000's work in midi/hid but I can not get my djm 2000 to midi to it when I mess about with the fuctions on the lcd screen in midi it shows it on the virtual dj that it is mapping but when I go to use it it wont work.I need this to work realy bad as I wont it to control the crossfader for the videos and need to activate the live cam from mixer as well 'O' and the sync would be cool.
I'm hoping you can use the 3 at once others wise I'm gutted and wasted £200 on this software. Realy hope to hear soon guys.

Thank you anyways but all sorted now I phone vdj up I'm from the Uk so gussing my bill will be high but worth every penny.

Not sure on the midi side of things, but HID you can use the following CDJs 350,400,850,900 and 2000. (there may be more, but I'm not aware of these)
All of these work well for me, but I'm having a small issue with the 850's.
Best bang for buck would have to be the 900, but if you have plenty of coin go for the 2000's. VDJ has done a great job of mapping all of these controllers and with the release of VDJ version 7 the 2000's really make an awesome combo.

I'm trying to set up VDJ with a MEP, but not getting any sound!

Using the following settings:

output: external mixer

Soundcard: ASIO driver Pioneer MEP

Any ideas?
