AJ: No, there's more electrical / electronic wizardry required than just a different connector on the cable. Check out a product such as the M-Audio Uno or Roland UM-1G. They're about as simple as it gets and they're relatively inexpensive.

Thanks for the help! Did some quick research and the M Audio seems to have random issues with the driver support. Guess I'll try the Roland... Thanks again!

Any updates on the CDJ 400 scratch problems?

Nothing yet but I'm sure they'll tackle it and have it ready for release when they are done with other fixes and etc. Likely in a few months.

Okay guys got one for ya...

Today my MEP7000 arrived. I played with the mapper because I want to use the controller to move from browser folder to songs to playlist. I left the arrows on the controller as is and mapped the Memo button to browser_window playlist. Now the "Memo" flashes on the controller display deck window on beat of the song playing. How the heck do I stop that?? That is annoying. LOL

I tried turning off the unit for a few minutes along with the laptop. I powered back up, loaded virtual dj, and it still does it. I did not try unmapping it and see if it still happened but I need an available button to perform the task.

Hello there,

Would someone be able to confirm for me that the new CDJ-900's being released from Prioneer would be compatible for MIDI usage on Virtual DJ 6?

Regards

Daniel

That is normal behaviour for a button or LED mapped that has been mapped to sync.

If the button itself is not mapped to sync, check to see whether the LED has been mapped separately, e.g: LED_MEMO

Yes they will be compatible. They are MIDI and HID so they will be mappable. I'm sure that by the next VDJ update there will be native HID support proving that Pioneer has or will be soon providing sample units to the Dev Team for testing and development.

Cool, so there is no point me buying them yet then really until VDJ announces support for the devices natively?

It is mapped to Sync. With "MEMO" being "Sync" is there still a way to disable the "memo" flash on the unit?

What i meant was I had the "Call" button mapped to the playlist (I know my post said MEMO..it was a goof on my part..i did sync Memo but it is "Call" button I have mapped to playlist).

Is there a way I can have the "Call" button mapped for various cue points where as it will jump through the various cues that are already set?

You can disable the sync flash by mapping the button as follows:

nothing & sync

(The LED uses the first command in the chain of actions to determine whether it should be lit or not.)

pause_stop will cycle through the set cue points and the beginning of the song (Although the song must be stopped/paused of course!)

See http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/VDJscript_verbs.html for a list of VDJscript verbs.

Hi there, can any help me with VDJ script?

Im trying to get the name of the effect to be displayed in my CDJ400's when its activated (just like in version 5). I know the command is 'get text' but i dont know where to implament this? For example, do i put it to the TEXT in the button menu (for the display for the cdj) and if so how do i add it to the command thats already there, which is: var "$show_artist" ? get artist-title : get title-artist

Or do i put the command in with the Fx button assignment?

Thanks in advance

Jay

Try mapping the text display as follows:

effect active ? get effect_name : var "$show_artist" ? get artist-title : get title-artist

effect active ? get effect_name : var "$show_artist" ? get artist-title : get title-artist

Thanks for this your a god send!

Sorry if this question has been asked already but i just can find the answer.
With CJD400 x 2, there seems to be a delay/lag when doing scratching esp. on backward release.
I'm using the CDJ400 on PC mode and there i experienced the audio delay during scratching but with TCCD it's seems ok.
I'm still using v5.2.1 though. I had big problem w/ the latest version in which the support team said it will be fixed until the next update only.
The audio lag seems to be noticeable on both ordinary 2 soundcard set-up or ASIO soundcard set-up.
Is anybody had a special mapped on this? Help needed please.
Again for v5.2.1

Thanks

Yes, this has been addressed. There are still issues with scratching in VDJ using CDJ-400s. I made a YouTube video about it that you can find a page or two back from this one. I'm assuming that there will be some improvement if not total successful scratching in the next update. My guess is that the next update won't be for quite a while to come because the last one was released about a month ago.

Given that the MEP and CDJ400 are already mapped and the new units will most certainly operate in a similar manner for HID control, it may only take a minor editing of the existing maps to customize them for the new players.

When I browse folder with rotary knob, display on cdj400 displays song that is now playing. How can I change it ,so I could choose next song looking just on cdj400 display instead of comp.It worked on VDJ5 but on VDJ6 it doesnt.
thanks
