I switched over to Ubuntu and started using Amarok to manage my music. I've edited a whole bunch of ID3 tags and the "Genre" field is just NOT being read by VirtualDJ. I've selected the files and select "Reload Tags", checked again, the "Genre" field is blank, nothing below it either.
I've verifed with MP3 tag that the info is in the ID3 tag correctly. The ID3 version in MP3Tag shows as ID3v2.4, if I select the files in MP3 tag and hit save, they're converted to ID3v2.3. Keep in mind I made no modifications to the tags at all, just loaded them in MP3Tag and hit save. The version now shows as ID3v2.3.
Low and behold if I open VirtualDJ and hit Reload Tags, VOIALA! They come in just fine! Any ideas?

Strange, my mp3's are tagged v2.3 OR v2.4 but they all read equally good.
