Topic: What is it called?

During a mix when you hear " You're now in the mix with dj whoever" or something of that effect. What is that called and how or what would I use to create my own "tag".

It's usually called a "Name Drop" or "tag"

You can make them yourself using a DJ mixer, microphone and a Recording/editing software

There are many free ones available - Google is your friend.

You would record your sample, edit, add effects to taste, and then create a MP3 file that can be played in a VDJ deck or in the sample engine

i like to call it annoying but if you have a mac you can make it in garage band. you can also turn it into a ringtone in garage band.
