Topic: "Installation Error - please reinstall VirtualDJ"
Hello,

Got a new MacBook Pro (M5 Max, 64GB/8TB). I used Migration Assistant to move my old Mac to my new Mac.

Now, VDJ displays this message on startup: "Installation Error - please reinstall VirtualDJ" despite reinstalling.

What do I need to do to get it up and running?

Edit: I have custom mappers and scripts that I don't want to lose, so preserving those is essential.

This was the mistake. There are a couple threads describing this issue - the devs had said that the migration process does not do the job completely/correctly, when it comes to the stems engine.

The solution (unfortunately) = do a VirtualDJ backup on the old machine and do a clean install of either VirtualDJ, and if that doesn't work, Mac itself, and then import the backup you made.

@Devs this problem really needs to be resolved somehow.

Unfortunately I use the MacBook for things other than DJing and Migration Assistant was a must in order to transfer the corporate apps I need as they have all kinds of system hooks that I'm unable to recreate manually.

So how do I now do a clean VDJ install? I removed the app, reinstalled and still have the issue.

It's never ever been resolved unfortunately. Atomix blame Apple ut still no solution after several years. Fresh install or no stems.

Stems are working! I just keep getting the "Installation Error - please reinstall VirtualDJ" popup.

similar problem here, I restored a time machine backup of my virtual DJ library folder on my mac, and i have this message from time to time. it doesn't prevent anything to work fine, but it's a bit stressful and unclear
