Just posting this up in case it helps someone trying to map an older Rane mixer. This forum has helped me tremendously. Thanks to Locodog for the help as well.
So I ended up mapping my Rane Sixty Four like this:
Originally I wanted to map one of the hotcue buttons to perform clone deck functions but decided against it because when you change the mapping, the LED lights stopped working and I couldn’t figure out how to make them light up. So I went back to the OG virtual Dj mapping and decided to use a combination of the sync buttons and shift+hotcues for functions I wanted to use on the mixer.
Deck 4 sync button =
deck 3 clone_from_deck 1 & deck 1 unload : deck 4 clone_from_deck 2 & deck 2 unload
Deck 3 sync button =
deck 3 clone_from_deck 1 & deck 1 unload : deck 4 clone_from_deck 2 & deck 2 unload
Sync buttons for DECK 1 & 2=
clone_from_deck 1 & clone_from_deck 2
(Set as instant doubles)
Deck 3 layer 3 and Deck 4 layer 4, shift+button#4=
unload
MIC ONE TONE KNOB=
deck 1 effect_slider
(To control wet/dry fx)
MIC ONE PAN KNOB=
deck 1 effect_select 1
MIC 2 TONE KNOB=
deck 2 effect_slider
MIC 2 PAN KNOB=
deck 2 effect_select 1
I also mapped the Flexfx buttons on channel 1&2 to the activate effect buttons on channel 1&2(the VDJ effects on the Rane aren’t post fader so I’m combining the hardware effects, mostly echo out with a VDJ effect)
