I've just spent the most unrewarding and confusing two hours of my life trying to get these to work with the latest Virtual DJ... Is anybody else using these?
Let me explain...
I started off trying to be really clever and get the rane decks working with the rane mixer alongside my ddj rzx ... and things only went downhill from there.
I was trying to run the rane off of decks 3 & 4 and have the ddj rzx on decks 1 & 2 ... This didnt go well at all ... The faders / crossfader just did weird things... center crossfader had decks 3 & 4 sounding but full left or full right had no audio.
It also became aparant that the waveforms werent working either.... I had empty waveforms on the rane mixer put the track previews down the edge were rendering ok.
I eventually decided to stop being clever and not use the ddj rzx at all (powered off) but keeping the rane setup on decks 3 & 4 and that exhibited similar weird behaviour.
I then decided to be even less clever and try the rane on channels 1 &2 and even though I had the rane was trying to use decks 1 & 2 there still appeared to be random things happening with the crossfader.. I can't quite pinpoint it... it seemed to go weird sometimes... I would try deck 1 and that would behaive and then after i'd played deck 2 the crossfader didnt work for deck 2.
Anyhoo... after lots of power cycles and reloading virtual dj I actually ended up with it working... or so I thought.... as soon as I tried to use cue to preview either left or right deck all I heard was master out through the headphones.
In addition to that... having the crossfader centered whilst playing deck 2.... then with nothing playing on deck 1 if i toggled the left channel fader between fully off and fully on it made the left deck output quiter/louder.
In short... everything seems to be wonderfully screwed for me in new and exciting ways I've never seen before especially when trying to map these to decks other than 1&2 ... But even 1&2 seemed to cause problems for me.

The very first thing you should be doing is resetting all of the controller mappings (Rane Twelves, Rane 72, DDJ RZX) to default (the default mapping is selectable in the Controllers tab for each controller) then ensuring that your audio config for the Rane 72 default (the manual) and the DDJ RZX are default (the manual). Did you try that?

Can you take screenshots of your config for all controllers involved (mapping selection (Controllers Tab) and audio configuration (Audio Tab) where applicable)?
Also, probably have one setup connected at a time when doing that (Rane Twelves + Rane 72 as one, DDJ RZX as the other).

I remember going into the config a resetting cross fader to default and hamster to default which seemed to help.
To be honest.. the whole thing was very confusing... I will have some time tomorrow to try different things and post screenshots

One thing for sure though. Trying to put the ranes on channels 3 & 4 as well as the mixer breaks the waveforms and cue points in the mixer. The button lights default to something else and the crossfader does weird stuff.

Yep the mixer wasn't meant to work with 4 channels (it's a 2 deck battle mixer), so I would imagine to even attempt to make that work you'll have to mess with its audio config itself (somehow multiplex deck audio onto the available deck channels which I'm not sure is possible) and make significant changes to the mapper to show relevant info. Why do you want to do this? Not saying it's impossible but it seems like a lot of work try to get that to work while your RZX does that by default. Maybe work with the devs to see if it's possible?

It works but has similar issues with crossfaders etc. the waveforms half work. The full preview works but the realtime preview is empty. The hotcues also don't work either. It's not essential this works for me but it seems like it's broken.
The main issue is that for me these don't even appear to work properly when I set everything to just use decks 1&2.
I will have time later today to post screenshots and a video if it's still being a pain for me.

This is probably an indication that your mapping settings for the Rane Seventy Two aren't correct.
Hopefully the screenshots/further mappings/settings descriptions
would help to get to the root of the issue.

so as an update to this... I booted up VDJ, turned on the Rane setup, it found them and everything worked perfectly... I havent changed anything and settings for mixer and both decks are all factory default... I think there is a bug when I introduce the ddj rzx but I'm too scared to re-introduce that into the setup right now...
if I have further problems I will post a video so I know i'm not going insane...
