话题: Gtx 3050 or 3050 ti enough for stems 2 ?
hi everybody-

i am thinking of getting a new laptop & my choice was going to be an MSI KATANA (11th or 12th gen) with a RTX 3050 or 3050TI or 3060 graphics card.

After seeing a recent post that the 3050 series are not enough ( or good enough) for fast & real time separation , i would like to hear your opinions and suggestions.

right now i have a gaming laptop with an GTX 1050TI and it is taking too long (3.5 min track takes about 1 to 1.5 minutes to analyse stems 2) and it does it probably with the intel uhd 630...)
i would feel bad buying a new expensive gaming laptop and finding out that it is not capable of fast stems 2.

It seamed clear by the chart that was posted some time ago that the RTX 30 series were good and fast (minimum about 15 x) but now it is not so clear..

thanks in advance

I have the MSI GT73 EVR 7RF TITAN PRO GTX 1080 which has 8GB GDDR5X, it does stem separation per track in 3 - 10secs. I think as long as the Graphics card (GPU) has 8GB of memory or more, you're good to go.

It looks like many 3050 Ti come with only 4GB memory, which is not enough, but if you find one with 6GB memory or more, then it will indeed be fast enough.

I have a GTX 3050Ti in a legion L5 with ryzen 7 cpu and 2x16gb ram (DDR 4 2666Mhz Single, low CL)
it works for the first 4 hours together with shaderds,
then Stems not finished to load before i drop the next track in the deck.

Maybe the diskspace is empty (4TB M.2), but if i have to buy a new pc,
i will wait a few months for the next generation of rtx gpu
and i would buy a 4070 or higher with a high tdp and more than 8gb RAM.

Works fine on Lenovo Legion 5 Pro with RTX 3060. Stem load time 3-5 seconds.
