Topic: how to keep the beats matched?

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

Im pretty good with beat matching...but for some reason when i mix old songs(soul) the beat match perfectly..for bout 5-10 seconds..then thurr goes the beat...so my question how do you keep the beats matched long enough to make a clean transition from one song to another?...I can keep on turn the wheel to keep it going but as soon as i stop..its goes off beat!

It sounds almost like your using the pitch bend instead of the pitch itself cause if you have the beats matched they should stay. Just my opion, IDK.

Older songs, especially those recorded live, are more apt to vary in tempo. It's the human element. The heavily produced tracks of today use mostly MIDI clicks and quantizing during the production phase to adhere to a strict tempo. Sometimes those songs require a DJ to "ride the fader" to keep everything lined up. That's where the ear and skill of the DJ come into play.

Not if you're mixing older tracks with human drummer timing; the only way to match these less than perfect beats is by learning to mix by ear (which apparently is a lost art in the new digital DJ era where everything is done for you).

With virtual dj you cannot warp tracks with different tempo... That is why you need the best out there.. Ableton live or Serato itch.. They are the best at warping tracks that has different tempo and keeping the beat sync

Dude, we're gonna see one more post like this SSL fanboy stuff and its gonna be curtains for you.
We prefer not to censor users, but you are obviously on a mission here.
You keep poppin' up on the radar with this crap and its getting old now.
Serato does not tolerate this kind of thing on their forum either.

ah who gives a shit... certainly not me

can you give me an example of 2-4 songs that you are trying match?
IE: post the Artist - Title
thanx

Some old song I have give the same issue
You just have to match the beat by ear and use the pitch bend or control to keep the it on beat.

As mentioned some old songs change tempo a bit because of the human factor
some of the older songs I have was because of my turntable that I recorded it from
this concept is called woo and flutter

Wow (recording) and flutter, irregularities in the playback speed of analog recordings

newer digital recordings where the beats are done by machine have very little if any wow and flutter
and CD Players/Computers/MP3 will not intruduce any speed difference (unless your using something like the Numark CDX or HDX in vinyl mode)

Have it your way

Any song im blending.. I would use the Pitch control or the pitch bend. Software has nothing to do with your blends.. I do it the old school way.. Manually
