iTunes DRM

Older music purchased from iTunes that is protected by Apple's DRM (.m4p) cannot be played in VirtualDJ and most other applications. These protected files can only be played on authorised Apple software and hardware, such as iTunes. iPod's, iPhones, iPads, etc.

If you are using iTunes as your music source, please ensure that you purchase music that is not DRM protected (Most new iTunes purchases are no-longer DRM protected.)

Older DRM protected tracks can be upgraded to non-DRM (iTunes+) via iTunes for a small fee per track.

NOTE: Trying to remove the DRM by any other means is illegal.

If you are using an old version of VirtualDJ and are trying to load MP4 audio or video files purchased from iTunes, then these will not work because they are encoded with a newer codec that is not supported by the old version of VirtualDJ. To be able to load these files, you will need to upgrade to the latest version of VirtualDJ.
