I can't seem to stop scratch_dna after I release a pad on my controller (Pioneer DDJ-SB2). I don't want it to play the entire scratch unless I hold the pad down. Right now for instace I have...
scratch_dna 'CADA.EAEA'
But it plays the entire scratch. I only want it to play whilst the pad is held.

For me it only playes the whole scratch if I press the pad very short.
But if I press and hold for like 200-300 ms and then release the pad the scratch will stop.
But if I press and hold for like 200-300 ms and then release the pad the scratch will stop.

Yes, I agree
The only "while pressed" feature that's not possible by default is looping the scratch as long as you press the button
Of course the simplest way to work around that, is to simply repeat the patterne 4-8 times in the command, so that it's always long enough
EDIT: I played around with it a bit, and if you need to continue looping the scratch pattern you can do something like this:
