Hi I have a underlying issue I think but I ain't very good with tech, my friend usually sorts my laptop out but he is so busy if I'm playing a track in deck a and want to load a song in deck b I always use my mouse to drop it in but then the jog wheels on screen freezes for a second but keeps playing music only once did it stop for a split second someone said I need to clean the laptop up but not sure what they are referring tob

I don't know what operating system your using but with Windows just turning off auto updates can simply boost your laptop performance. However you will then need to do manual updates periodically. This link may help. https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-change-windows-update-settings-2625778
Your laptop may need what is called optimizing but I would just try turning off the auto updates for the moment.

@Eddie it's difficult to diagnose, because you've not provided any useful/essential information....
Are you running Mac or PC? What OS? What's the spec of the laptop?
What (exact) version of VDJ are you running? What skin are you using?
Are you playing audio or video files? From an internal or external drive?
Are you using a controller or external audio interface? Which one?
Etc.
The more info you provide, the easier suggestions can be offered.
